What a great idea!
I've been reading about broadcast quality digital audio production and have found really great information on two locations:
http://transcom.org/
-- a site for independent radio producers, has an entire section devoted to tools
http://www.vermontfolklifecenter.org/
-- a site for folklorists using digital audio to document folk artists.
I urge storytellers to pursue the highest quality audio tools and production techniques that they can manage without losing sight of principle that the "story is the thing". The better our recordings, the longer our listeners will want to listen to us; a really great story will lose listeners if there is distortion, hiss, and other disturbances (and the listeners might not even know why they stop listening!)
